Subject: Re: [Rialta-Tech] satellite antenna
I'm not sure how much I can help but the used 1999 Rialta I
just bought has a Winegard Satellite system. Since we have yet to sign up with
any of the carriers I've have not taken the time to check it out. What I can tell
you is that it is mounted on the roof just in front of the AC unit. There is a
rather large cable running from the unit over to the bathroom vent which is where
it enters the vehicle. I have the FD twin and the cable is then run under the
driver side bed and comes out at the night stand that sits between the two beds.
One of our concerns regarding satellite, especially those fixed
on top of the RV is that we like to camp in well shaded sites, which tend to block
the satellite signal. I wonder if this might be why most of the RV's I've seen
have the free standing dishes?
We have been debating if we should sign up for DirecTV or not
vs. Time Warner cable which we already have. There are pros and cons for both.
We really don't watch much TV while in the RV anyway.
Hope this helped even a little.
