Many owners have performed some modifications to the recessed entry floor area just inside the coach side door.  The reasons for the modifications have included water damage to the carpet from leaking rainwater, added storage area, and a means to fill in and level out the recessed area to eliminate a trip hazard when walking in the center aisle of the coach.
